Cheetah Batik

So, for one of my designs, I decided to make a batik of it.  Batik is a method of dying fabric using wax.  You start with your lightest colour, and whatever you want to stay that colour, you put wax over.  Then you add the next darker colour, and repeat as for as many as you colours you have.  I used silk with Jacquard Dyes.

First Post!

So, one of my friends from way back has been wanting a painting from me for a very long time.  She was headed out to South Korea at the end of summer to teach there for at least a year, and as a parting gift I did this for her.  It is only 4x5 so she could easily take it with her.  Besides, mini paintings are just more fun.
